We’ve seen one party want to “punish their ex” by not negotiating in good faith and by even going against what the divorce decree states and what their attorney recommends. We attempt to bring any discussion back to the business at hand minus any emotion. We try to bring reason to the situation and remind all parties of the ultimate goal: getting the home sold.
When all else fails we recommend legal counsel. Lawyers often emphasize differences and that can sometimes make it even more difficult to reach an agreement so we recommend this only after all else has failed.
